About
Hi. My name is Elisha. What’s yours?
Here’s an interesting article debating the role of self-promotion in science:
Self-Promotion in Sdence: Too Much, Too Soon for “Cold Fusion” By Eugene Garfield
A Summary of Elisha Yaffe
by: Elisha Yaffe
Elisha Yaffe was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on August 13, 1983. He then moved to Massachusetts where he was teased a lot for his name, making him sad and angry. He held his anger deep inside, waiting for the right moment to strike back at those who had wronged him ever so much. Then, at the very moment he was to carry out his revenge, he did something stupid that made people laugh. It was on this very day that Elisha decided to be a comedian.
Elisha attended the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter High School in Western Massachusetts. He founded Headgear, the school’s official comedy troupe. They still do shows and stuff. You should watch them. Elisha doesn’t know if they are funny, but he’d watch them for nostalgic purposes.
Elisha then moved to Boston, where he attended university at Emerson College. It was there that he founded Zebro Sketch Comedy and often hosted their weekly show at ImprovBoston. Zebro “packed the house” for their run from February 2006-December 2006. During that time, their videos were featured on CNN, BBC, MSNBC, The Today Show, MTV, Youtube, Myspace, The Huffington Post, Salon.com. Their videos have been viewed nearly 3 million times and are ranked as one of the most subscribed and viewed comedy channels on Youtube. Youtube nominated Zebro for the first ever Youtube Comedy Award for their video “Love Corner.” At Emerson, Elisha was a member of This is Pathetic, an improv comedy troupe founded by David Cross, Laura Kightlinger, John Ennis, Mike Bent, Anne Kenny, and others way back in 1985.
As a member of The Secret Circus, Elisha traveled the country performing at various universities. The esteemed Dave Burdick started the show that turned into a comedy group/tour and brought on Elisha and Ballard C. Boyd.
Elisha now resides in sunny Los Angeles, where he co-founded Sorry, Dad Productions with Dave Horwitz, Justin Becker, and Mookie Blaiklock. Sorry, Dad created, wrote, and starred in “Downers Grove” a web series that was developed by Warner Brothers television. “Downers Grove” will premiere in the fall of 2009 on thewb.com. Sorry, Dad also has projects in development with TBS and Freemantle Media.
