A little while back, we made a video making fun of our friend and GGD fan Jeremy, because we think that they are a lame band. We put it on Youtube. It quickly became hated by Goo Goo Dolls fans, and loved by Goo Goo haters.
Then something funny happened. The Goo Goo Dolls found the video themselves, thought it was funny, and invited us on tour. Here is the exact email we got from Mike, the Goos drummer, after he watched the video on Youtube:
"To Whom It May Concern at Zebro…
I just finished watching your video entitled, ‘Why Do People Like the Goo Goo Dolls?’ on YouTube. My reason is simple : I’m in the band. And after seeing the video (and laughing hysterically), I’ve decided that Jeremy and the two guys that hate us are amazing. We have to meet them and invite them to our show. I see you are based out of Boston. Unfortunately, we just played there, but we’d be willing to give you free tickets in any other city on the rest of our summer tour. You can check out our dates at googoodolls.com or myspace.com/googoodolls. In summation: thank you Jeremy for defending us. And to the other two guys, thanks for a good laugh. Maybe you’ll change your mind if you come see a show.
Thanks, Mike Malinin”
So of course we, the members of Zebro, accepted their offer and traveled six hours to meet the band, hang out with them backstage, and battle them! Or shake their hands politely. I guess you will have to see the video to find out what happens…Pretty cool Men in Black reference, dude.
